1. Overview & Privacy Philosophy
VRR Software Solutions ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. Mimo is designed from the ground up as a 100% offline, local-first note-taking application for Windows 11 and Windows 10.
We believe your personal notes, project plans, todos, and reading notes should remain strictly private on your personal device. Mimo contains zero telemetry, zero cloud sync, and zero external analytics servers.
2. Information We Collect and Process
Mimo processes data exclusively on your local machine:
A. Notes & Notebooks
- What is processed: Text content, block structures (headings, todos, lists, callouts, blockquotes, code snippets, dividers), and notebook metadata created by you.
- Where it is stored: Stored in a local database file on your system.
- Cloud access: Never transmitted over the internet or uploaded to any server.
B. Custom Tags & Organization
- What is processed: Custom badge tags, notebook color assignments, and organizational metadata created by you.
- Where it is stored: Encrypted local storage on your device.
C. Reminders & Alerts
- What is processed: Reminder dates, times, and associated note references configured by you.
- Where it is stored: Stored locally on your device using the native Windows notification system.
- Data handling: Reminder schedules never leave your machine.
D. Clipboard & Image Pasting
- What is processed: Screenshot images and formatted text pasted from your system clipboard into notes.
- Purpose: To provide seamless content insertion within the block editor.
- Data handling: Pasted content is stored locally within your note data. No clipboard data is transmitted externally.
3. Operating System Permissions
To function as a native note-taking application, Mimo requests standard Windows system privileges:
- Local File System Access: Reads and writes note data to your local application data directory.
- System Clipboard Access: Reads pasted text and images from your clipboard when you explicitly paste content into a note.
- Windows Notification Access: Displays local reminder notifications through the Windows notification center.
- Optional Windows Startup Registry: If enabled, creates a local startup entry so Mimo launches automatically when turning on your PC.
4. Data We Do NOT Collect
Mimo does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone, address)
- Device fingerprints or hardware identifiers
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Browsing history, cookies, or web tracking pixels
- Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry
- Advertising identifiers or marketing profiles
5. Third-Party Services
Mimo uses zero third-party services, SDKs, or cloud APIs. There are no embedded analytics frameworks, no crash reporting services, and no advertising networks.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual notes, entire notebooks, or all application data at any time through the app interface. Uninstalling Mimo removes all associated local data from your system.
7. Children's Privacy
Mimo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since Mimo collects no personal data whatsoever, it is inherently compliant with COPPA and similar regulations.
